What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a specific pressure technique treatment which is usually applied to the feet but since the hands have the same reflex zones, it can be applied to the hands if necessary. The treatment affects all the internal structure and organs, which are mapped out in miniature on the soles of the feet, which correspond to each gland and structure in the body. The Reflexologist systematically applies this technique to many reflex points (from which the therapy takes its name) found on the foot to promote healing.
Reflexology is a non-invasive treatment which naturally helps the body to maintain a balance between the body systems, encouraging them to work in harmony and to keep the body in a good state of health. Reflexology is a good "preventative medicine". It is not a “cure all” to the exclusion of other therapies, although there are times when it will pinpoint problem areas in the body.
